We are a warm welcoming community of staff and children within the friendly village of Cropwell Bishop.
We moved into our purpose built building in November 2014. Our room offers calming walls and open windows looking out onto farm fields. Our new building came with our fantastic outdoor area. We strongly believe in embracing every time of year, allowing the children to experience all seasons and understanding the changes in our environment. Our large outdoor area includes a very popular mud kitchen, frog zone, and scrap centre - allowing the children to access various materials of their own choice and create their own ideas! Through our back gates is the large school field with a huge climbing area and a fantastic woodland area.
We are based on the site of Cropwell Bishop Primary school, ensuring a smooth, steady transition into school during the time your child spends with us. Throughout the school year we have weekly visits to the school reception class, these increase throughout the year in readiness for school. Our strong partnership with school allows the children to become familiar with the classroom, the routine and the school staff, all at their own pace throughout the year.
We consist of 5 full time staff members, with a bank of cover staff that work at nearby The Lime Trees settings.
The Manager - Holly Manning has worked at The Lime Trees for six and a half years. Starting as an apprentice after sixth form, working her way up to being manager at Cropwell Bishop. Holly has a huge passion for childcare and strongly believes in creating new, exciting and lasting memories for all the children that attend.
The Deputy Manager - Emma Simpson has worked at The Lime Trees for 4 years. Emma has previously been the Manager at Our Burton Joyce Nursery, before moving to Cropwell Bishop September 2016. She has worked in childcare just under 10 years and loves to provide exciting and messy activities for all the children.
Play worker - Julie King has worked for The Lime Trees for three and a half years and has worked in childcare for over 25 years and is incredibly passionate about her career. Julie has 2 children of her own and lives in the village, she is very warm and nurturing and is a great support network for staff and parents.
Play worker - Jo Turner joined The Lime Trees in February 2017 after 28 years working in a primary school. She is extremely passionate about her career and the children are at the centre of everything she does. She’s a bubbly and welcoming character who dedicates so much of her time to ensuring the children have the best time at The Lime Trees. We look forward to many more years of Jo Turner at The Lime Trees.
Play worker - Issy Simpson has worked for The Lime Trees for 3 years. Issy has previously worked at our breakfast and after school clubs around Nottingham. The children love spending time with Issy as she always runs around being silly with them, making sure they always have fun. Issy is passionate about learning more and is always bringing new ideas to the team!
We offer a lot of play base activities at The Lime Trees, we strongly believe that children develop faster and their learning is cemented when they are having fun! We strive to provide new and exciting experiences everyday the children attend and giving them opportunities to experience what they wouldn't usually. We believe that a huge part of developing a well rounded and happy human being is teaching them as children how to make their own decisions, problem solve and learn what is a safety risk. Throughout every session we provide activities that allow children to take safe risks and guide them in deciding how to carry out that particular activity e.g. - building a wobbly bridge from planks and tyres, encouraging them to put their hands out and learn how to balance or asking a friend to hold their hand before returning the favour. We encourage experimenting with different materials, learning what happens when things are mixed together.
We have a very popular mud kitchen, where we make different potions, mud pies and fairy cakes! The children learn capacity, weight, counting, problem solving and how to use tools effectively to get the end product they want. This often ends up being very messy - thank goodness for mud suits!
We look forward to hearing from and we can’t wait to show you around!
